Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Kiaanlab ("we", "us") collects through kiaanlab.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We collect the minimum needed to respond to you and operate the site.

Information we collect

When you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell this information or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Protecting the contact form

To keep spam and automated abuse out, each submission is checked automatically: for links and wording typical of spam, for temporary email addresses, and for repeated submissions. To limit repeats we keep short-lived counters based on a one-way hash of your IP address and email address, which expire within an hour. A submission that looks like spam may be held for a person to review and receives no reply. After a successful submission we send one confirmation email to the address you entered. Email is sent from our own mail server.

Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of strictly functional cookies: a session cookie and a CSRF-protection cookie, both required for the site and any form on it to work securely. Your light/dark theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage, not sent to our servers. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

First-party analytics

We run our own, self-hosted analytics rather than a third-party service. A random identifier is stored in your browser's local storage so we can tell returning visits from new ones; it is not tied to your name or email unless you submit the contact form. We record your IP address, the pages you view, the site or search engine you arrived from, and your device type and browser. We do not track which links you click on other sites, or anything you do after you leave kiaanlab.com, and we don't share this data with third parties.

Contact form recovery

If you start filling in the contact form and enter your email address but leave the site before submitting, we save that email address so we can follow up. We only capture the email field, only once you click or tab away from it, and never anything you type before you finish leaving that one field. If you'd rather we didn't, you can email us to have any such record deleted, or simply avoid typing your email into the form until you intend to send it.

How long we keep data

Contact form submissions are retained as long as reasonably needed to respond to your inquiry and maintain business records, after which they may be deleted on request.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion at any time by emailing hello@kiaanlab.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
